Miss Win

A player cannot go out on a tile that he has missed should another player discard the same tile during the same very same go around, or even if the tile is self-drawn. He must discard a tile before being able to claim a missed discard again.

Insurance Penalties

  • Big Three Dragons — If Player A discards a dragon tile, which completes the third dragon pung needed for Player B's Big Three Dragons hand, he pays the full value for all players should Player B win. This is regardless if the winning tile is off another player's discard or if it was self-drawn. Prior to this, Player B must have two melded dragon pungs.
  • Little Three Dragons — If Player A discards a dragon tile, which completes a dragon pair needed for Player B's Little Three Dragons hand, he pays the full value for all players should Player B win. This is regardless if the winning tile is off another player's discard or if it was self-drawn. Prior to this, Player B must have two melded dragon pungs.
  • Big Four Winds — If Player A discards a wind tile, which completes Player B's winning hand and the fourth wind pung needed for Big Four Winds, Player A pays the full value for all players should Player B win. This is regardless if the winning tile is off another player's discard or if it was self-drawn.Prior to this, Player B must have three melded wind pungs.
  • Little Four Winds — If Player A discards a wind tile, which completes Player B's winning hand and the wind pair needed for Little Four Winds, Player A pays the full value for all players should Player B win. This is regardless if the winning tile is off another player's discard or if it was self-drawn. Prior to this, Player B must have three melded wind pungs.
  • All Honors — If Player A discards an honor tile, which completes the fifth honor pung needed for Player B's All Honors hand, he pays the full value for all players should Player B win. This is regardless if the winning tile is off another player's discard or if it was self-drawn. Prior to this, Player B must have three melded honor pungs.
  • All Terminals — If Player A discards a terminal, which completes the fifth terminal pung needed for Player B's All Terminals hand, he pays the full value for all players should Player B win. This is regardless if the winning tile is off another player's discard or if it was self-drawn. Prior to this, Player B must have three melded terminal pungs.
  • Full Flush — If Player A discards a suit, which completes the fifth set needed for Player B's All Terminals hand, he pays the full value for all players should Player B win. This is regardless if the winning tile is off another player's discard or if it was self-drawn. Prior to this, Player B must have four melded sets of one suit.
  • Last Five Tiles — If Player A discards a fresh tile (no other tiles shown in players’ discards or melds) when there are five or less tiles in the live wall, which Player B claims to go out. Player A pays the full value for all players.

A player may declare “no choice” if he has no option but to discard a dangerous tile. In this case, this player must temporarily reveal his hand.1
