Nine Gates (九蓮寶燈) is a limit pattern composed of 1112345678999 in a single suit. The fourteenth tile can be any of the nine tiles from the same suit. All tiles must be self-drawn except for the last tile.

An example of a Pure Nine Gates. The blue tile is a 9-sided wait.
There are two "Impure" versions of the hand…
- No 9-Sided Wait: The 14-tile shape will include 1112345678999, but the pair was already in the hand.
- Non-Concealed: Some or all of the pattern was called.

An "No 9-Sided Wait" Impure Nine Gates is not only allowed, it's worth Yakuman. Some groups award Double Yakuman for a Pure Nine Gates.
Chinese Official MCR
Does not combine with Full Flush, Concealed hand, and Pung of Terminals or Honors. (Combines with Fully Concealed if Self-Drawn.)
