Blessing of Earth (Earthly Hand, Chiihou, Dihu, 地胡) is an incredibly lucky incidental win.
There are two common definitions depending on the variant.
By Mahjong Variant
Chinese Classical, Some New Style, HKOS, some Guangdong Style, and Zung Jung
A Non-East player has a valid hand after calling East's first discard. If East declares a Concealed Kong, Blessing of Earth is cancelled.
Some New Style, Japanese Riichi, Taiwanese, and some Guangdong Style
A Non-East player has a valid hand upon drawing their first tile. If a prior call is made by any player, Blessing of Earth is cancelled.
Some variants from the second group use the first group's definition for their variant's Blessing of Man.
There's also an uncommon house rule for variants that use The Charleston…
East has a valid hand upon drawing their first tile after the Charleston.
Guangdong Style
The definitions of Blessing of Earth and Blessing of Man seem to coincide with what region the ruleset is from. If it's from Taiwan, Blessing of Earth uses the 2nd definition. If it's from elsewhere, it uses the 1st definition.
